When you want to talk about your habits in the past which you don't do in the present, you can use the expression "used to + infinitive". You can also use "would + infinitive" to talk about your habits or your repeat actions in the past. But there is a difference between them.
We can also use "used to + infinitive" to talk about states in the past which are no longer true but we don't use "would + infinitive" to talk about it. In general, we usually use "would + infinitive" to talk about our habits in the past when we're telling story about the past. So we don't use it to talk about states in the past without time information.

We don't use would + infinitve to talk about states in the past, like :
